About Are You Dancing

On a typical dance class night a common topic of conversation will be “What's on this weekend?” and “Where are you dancing?” If you miss a class or don't attend regular classes how do you keep in touch? Have you ever not attended an event because you thought you would not know anyone, only to discover there would have been plenty of familiar faces and what a great evening you missed?!

Now you can keep in contact with friends, find out where they are going, and let them know where you will be dancing.

We can help you with other frequently asked questions such as where can I hire a fancy dress costume?, or where can I buy dance shoes?. Our Dance Directory will help you locate mail order or local companies selling (or hiring) dance clothes and period costumes. In addition you can find out where your favorite dance band are playing or find specialist dance event listing websites. Search for bands, DJs or callers in our Dance Directory, then find out where they are playing.

This website has been developed by dancers, for dancers. AreYouDancing currently covers Swing dancing (plus some Ballroom and Jive) across the UK, together with international events. It is now being expanded to include more regions and dance styles.

Only people who log in to the AreYouDancing website will be able to view details of other members. This information will be restricted to name, town, county, country, dance styles, description and photo (if provided).

If you request/accept someone as a “friend” you will also be able to see which events he/she is attending.
NB: Both parties have to agree to this request before the “friendship” is activated.

Your privacy is important to us. We will not sell, share, rent or otherwise distribute this information to any other party for marketing or selling purposes. Other dance related websites may choose to use our functionality and data on their website, but they will not be able to use information about you for any other purpose. Information will only be disclosed to a third party if we are legally obliged to or as part of a police investigation.

Email addresses will not be displayed to members or other users of AreYouDancing.
