Footloose Dance Orchestra

The Footloose Dance Orchestra was formed with the sole purpose of recreating the wonderful melodious sounds produced by British Dance Bands and Dance Orchestras during the so-called ‘golden era’ of popular music from the 1920’s to the late 1930’s. Our extensive repertoire draws on the very best dance music of that period. We specialise in playing for social dances with emphasis on bringing dancers a variety of styles popular at the time.

All FDO sets include Fox-Trot, Waltz, Quick-Step, Tango, Rumba and Charleston. Whether you want to dance the night away or just sit and listen to the most melodic and romantic music ever written, then the FDO is guaranteed to have something for you.

Our unique repertoire includes many great hits of the day made famous by legendary band leaders including Henry Hall and Jack Payne with the BBC Dance Orchestra, Ambrose, Jack Hylton, Carroll Gibbons, Ray Noble, and Mantovani and his Tipica Orchestra.
