Ballroom and Latin for beginner, improver and intermediate level social dancers. Raymond Root and Piotr Chlebos plus Anna Lam as assistant are the teachers. Singles and couples are welcome. We have two rooms, and do lessons from 3.30 pm to 8 pm, then students use the main hall from 8 pm to10 pm for supervised practice and revision of the moves they have learned to music. The main hall has opening windows on both sides of the room and is well ventilated. We provide free issue tea
For May and June 2021 we will assume most of our guests will be a bit rusty and we will focus the classes on revision of the main Latin and ballroom dances at three levels, doing one Ballroom and Latin dance each Sunday for two weeks, before moving on to the next pair of ballroom and Latin dances. We have been holding ballroom lessons every Sunday in Colliers Wood since 2007, with no interruptions until Covid laws forced us to suspend lessons.
Our aim is, and always has been, to provide a service for ballroom dancers to learn and improve their dances in fun, effective and inexpensive lessons, taught by skilled, kind and enthusiastic top level social dance teachers, and provide a large floor for dancers to regularly hone their social dance skills on the dance floor
Guests range in age from eighteen to eighty and are from a multitude of backgrounds and ethnicities. We encourage social interaction and fun, with bus stops, Paul Jones and snowballs.
