Jive and swing dance classes are returning to Canterbury!

Weekly introductory classes starting on Monday 19th July at the Canterbury Baptist Church Hall, St. George’s Place, CT1 1UT. Perfect for complete beginners to anyone returning to swing dancing after the long break.

The first few weeks will concentrate on just the basic steps of various 1920’s-60’s partner dances (mostly Jive plus simple short intros to Onestep, Charleston, Shag etc) in a fun easy accessible way. To maintain safe social distancing for the moment we won’t be dancing with partners, holds will be added later.

We will also teach simple solo vintage dances (Charleston, Twist, etc) & are really excited to announce we’ve researched & will teach the Continental, a very easy to learn 1950’s/60’s solo line dance that has loads of fun variations & the chance to improvise.

£6 full price/£5 reduced (retired, students, unemployed & NHS staff) per person per class, places need to be booked in advance because of limited space due to pandemic restrictions, please message to secure your places.

Please bring water, a towel & deodorant, we suggest comfortable shoes that don’t grip the floor too much & loose everyday clothing. If you have any health concerns please contact your GP.

All classes will comply with COVID-19 guidelines, updates closer to the event as guidelines are liable to change.
