2.15pm - Sequence Dancing
Sequence dancing is a combination of figures and movements from the Waltz, Quickstep, Tango, Foxtrot, Cha Cha Cha, Rumba etc. arranged in a repeatable group or sequence.

When dancing sequence, all couples dance around the ballroom anticlockwise, dancing the same steps as each other at the same time, almost as if in formation. This type of dancing also includes Old Time dances such as Old Time Waltz, Two-Step, Blues, Saunter, Swing etc. The sequence is a fairly short routine of approximately 10 technical figures or 40 steps arranged within 16 bars of dance music.

New dances have to have won a major inventive dance competition and each dance has an exclusive name. Newer dances that we have taught include, Wisconsin Waltz, Star Ruby Rumba, Tina Tango, Blue Angel Rumba, Lace Agate Swing, Tayside Tango, Welcome Waltz, Saunter Shiraz, Magic Mambo, Charnwood Cha Cha Cha and Black Country Blues.
