About Stonesfield Folk Dance Club

Stonesfield Folk Dance Club meets each Wednesday evening from 7.45pm to 10pm . We welcome beginners and experienced dancers to learn more of our rich folk dance heritage. It is not necessary to have a partner if you wish to come for the first time and learn more as an experienced dancer will guide you.
All dances are walked through several times and the caller will continue to call during the dance. We are lucky to have a resident band. The Donkey House Band who sometimes number over 10, and at other times we have smaller bands to play for us.
The dances range from those you may have seen in a Jane Austen Play to the type you must have enjoyed at a Barn Dance.
Several times each year we hold a weekend dance with Nationally recognised Callers & Bands. However the highlight of 2022 was the Annual Folk Dance Weekend when dancers from all 4 corners of England joined us at Stonesfield . When we welcomed Bernie Culkin & Trevor Monson with Stradivarious playing for us.
Stonesfield is affiliated to the English Folk Dance & Song Society and we are able to attend a wide range of events organised by other Clubs from Folk Dance Holidays, Dances, Workshops, and Music Days.
