About York Vintage Dance Group
We promote, demonstrate and teach vintage themed dance classes in a fun social and relaxed atmosphere on a Tuesday Night in Huntington Working Men's Club, in York Beginners 7 till 8pm, Intermediates 8 till 9.15.
We teach and cover a wide range of individual and partner vintage dances at our classes and dance nights, from the 1920's to the 1940's & 50's, playing music from those decades, along with more modern retro style songs.
The varied mix of Vintage Dances including: Jive, Social ballroom, Charleston Partner, Strolls, Popular Sequence, Old Time, 1940's Novelty dances and much more.
We can help with private Vintage dance lessons, we also host and run occasional Dance Workshops in York for Lindy Hop, Shim Sham, Balboa, Jitterbug Swing/1940's Jive & Social Ballroom.
As organisers we regularly host General Vintage and 1940's Dance Nights & Dance Themed Parties.
We have our own resident band and create a warm, fun and lively atmosphere at all our events.
