We run two classes each Monday, one suitable for beginners and one for improver/intermediate dancers, any queries contact us at BalboaMondays@gmail.com. The classes work on a 6 week course basis with new starters able to come in Weeks 1 and 2 of each course.
20:30 - doors open, warm up dancing to start fundamentals class. This class has a 6 week structure that aims to teach you all of the main Balboa figures as well as ample technique and styling to get you social dancing as well as playing with moves and rhythms. Suitable for beginners, each rotation teaches different concepts, so improver dancers will continue to benefit from the classes.
21:20 - social dancing
21:30 - improver/intermediate class, suitable for those who have done 3-4 fundamentals courses - everyone to have a good set of strong fundamentals from the beginner classes.
The cost £5 - improver dancers are strongly encouraged to attend the beginner fundamentals class (you pay the same so why not!) allowing you to focus on the fundamentals of the techniques we will then build on in the next class.
Due to the heath status of some class attendees require
1. Proof of negative lateral flow test (i.e. the type available from the chemist) taken on the day of class (proof to be provided each week at start of class when you pay)
2. Masks must be worn
3. Rotation only for those who feel safe to do so, otherwise please buddy up into fixed partnerships
Rising Sun Arts Centre venue
Venue has parking and is within a short walk of Reading Station - map at http://goo.gl/maps/20ZGZ. If you cannot park at the venue then there is plenty of on-street parking a few minutes walk away on London Street which is free after 8pm, or for a slightly longer walk, free parking can also be found on Kendrick Road.
