Yacht Club Swing runs on Thursday evenings at Linden House, Chiswick (on the riverfront between Chiswick and Hammersmith)
Beginners/improvers class - 7.15pm-8.15pm
For those new to swing dancing these drop-in classes are aimed to make those first steps as straightforward and enjoyable as possible. Covering all the basic steps and rhythms of Lindy hop - different material is taught each week and the classes are designed so that you can join any time and you can progress without needing to be there every week. No previous experience required. Fun, social and informative! Rotate partners (no partner needed) or stay with fixed partner - your choice.
Improvers/intermediates class - 8.15pm-9pm
Challenge yourself and move your dancing to the next level! You need to be familiar with Lindy hop basics to take this class. These steps are covered in our beginners/improvers classes and monthly workshops.
Practice/social dancing - 9pm-9.45pm
The cafe/bar is open upstairs throughout the evening.
Linden House Riverside venue
Linden House is a lovely period building set on the Riverside between Chiswick and Hammersmith.
By tube - District Line to Stamford Brook or Ravenscourt Park, both 10-15 minutes walk, or Piccadilly, District or Hammermsith & City Lines to Hammersmith, 15-20 minutes walk.
By bus - there are plenty of bus routes serving Chiswick and Hammersmith (especially Chiswick High Road/King Street) - from the Chiswick side, St. Peter's Square is closest; from the Hammersmith side, Hammersmith Bridge is closest.
By car - turn left off the A4 westbound into Oil Mill Lane (just after the BP garage) and you'll find Linden House at the end, to your left - there is a small car park, first-come, first-served, but there is also free parking in the local roads around the venue; please plan before setting off.
