This month - Cock & Bull Band with caller Barry Goodman. Golden Hare dance at the interval.
The Cock and Bull Band is one of the country's leading ceilidh bands, delighting audiences at festivals, ceilidhs and parties with their eclectic mix of instrumentation and styles. The rhythmic powerhouse of Paul Martin on mandocello and Pete Lockwood on keyboards and percussion is augmented by Vanda Sainsbury on sax, clarinet and recorders, and Lynn Swain on flute and whistle. It’s a great sound!
This is Barry’s last ceilidh as Chair of Unicorn Ceilidhs, and he’s going out with a bang! Expect his own well-crafted dances, plus traditional and newer dances from his vast repertoire.
Don’t miss the last dance of the season!
It's a barn dance - or is it a ceilidh? And what's that? A ceilidh (say kayley) is your chance to dance English traditional country dances with others. The caller describes all the moves (very simple) and the dancers walk through the whole dance once - then the band starts - and a great time is had by all ! Dance as vigorously or as sedately as you wish - and don't worry if you get it wrong. Most dances are for couples, but singles and groups are welcome. There's a break about 9.15 when we organise a dance display - generally Morris or similar - to entertain you, and a Raffle . See our website at www.unicornceilidhs.org.uk for all details
