Following on from a long standing tradition of a Modern Jive class in Melton Mowbray, this new venture began on Tuesday 12th May. Find us on other social media we are called - Melbray Modern Jive. Modern Jive is a smooth social partner dance. In the classes 3 moves are taught, the next week 3 more are taught and you aren't expected to remember the first 3. Eventually if you are a leader you will begin to remember enough to string a few moves together, if you are a follower then you just learn to follow the lead. The classes rotate partners so learning is quicker for both parties. Dancers are encouraged to dance with lots of people. At the weekend there are social dances within the area which you are also encouraged to attend to improve your skills. It's a fantastic social life once you get into it.
