Two Basic Jive Moves to Learn & Teach

Do you have any friends that like the music and dance of the 1940s, 50s and early 60s who’d love to give jiving a go? This class will be perfect either to help you easily show them their first couple of moves and encourage them to take dancing further or help you yourself learn your first two jive moves.

Jive is a really fantastic dance, probably the most popular of the swing dances, pretty easy to learn and with so many moves and styles. It’s also a very informal and easy introduction to starting partner dancing in general.

These classes will be aimed mostly at dancers with some experience of jive so they can introduce their friends to the dance, but the moves are easy enough for beginners to try as well.

We will show you the best two moves to start with and how to teach any friends who’d like to learn. To accompany the class there will be a fact sheet with instructions for these two moves, important things to cover, resources and a list of some good music to learn to and practice with.

Price per person, cash only on door:
£6/£5 reduced (unemployed, retired, student or NHS staff)

As it’s the holiday season we will go for a drink after the class to celebrate and socialise if you’d like to join us.
