Saltdean Lido venue

Tea dances return to Saltdean Lido with a Lindy Hop taster class followed by social dancing. The Lido is the only grade II* listed coastal lido in the country. Designed by architect RWH Jones and opened in 1938, its unique streamlined design encapsulates Britain’s modernist and social aspirations of the time for creating seaside architecture for the enjoyment of the masses. Restoration of the Art Deco main building is nearing completion and will provide year-round attractions and event space and we'll be dancing in the glorious ballroom with access to the outside terraces.

How to get here
BY CAR
Just off the A259 Coast road, in the centre of Saltdean. We have two car parks immediately adjacent to the Lido. SatNav: BN2 8SP

BY BUS
Buses 27, 12X, 12, 14 all stop at the Lido, from both Brighton station and town and from Eastbourne. Get off at Longridge Avenue for a one minute walk

BY BICYCLE
The wonderful 'Undercliff Walk' means it's possible to cycle straight to the Lido along the coast from as far as Hove without have to be on the road. It's a wonderful ride and there are plenty of places to lock your bike. Or hire a BERYL bike - download the app.
