Energetic. Playful. Creative. At Swing Shift, we teach authentic Lindy Hop, true to its roots as an African American art form that’s over a century old. This partner dance isn’t about learning fixed sequences of moves – it’s about creating momentum, and sensing and responding in real time. And the soundtrack? Banging jazz tunes all the way.

In our beginner classes, you'll learn:

- Triple steps, step steps and rock steps
- Eight count, six count or Charleston rhythms
- The basics of lead and follow
- Secrets of improvisational partner dancing
- Solo jazz moves to spice things up
- Drills and exercises to get you feeling the groove
- A classic move or two that will get you zipping around the floor
- And lots lots more

Each session is an hour-long class followed by half an hour of social dancing and practice time. No partner needed. Open to total beginners.

The drop-in price is £10 on the door in cash or card, no need to book in advance.
