Special complete beginner’s taster 1940’s/50’s style jive class
Dance Styles: 1940s Jive, Rock n Roll, Strolls
Price: £5/£4 reduced (unemployed, retired, student, NHS staff) cash on door
Time: 7.30pm-8.30pm

This jive class is aimed at complete beginners, if you’ve never tried partner dancing before this will be perfect for you. No partner needed.
We will teach you a couple of very basic moves with no special footwork that can get you on the dance floor straight away!
Plus as a bonus we will also teach you a line dance called the Stroll that’s done in Rock’n’Roll and Swing Dance clubs to slower music.
If you’ve not taken dance classes before it’s best to wear comfortable everyday clothes with shoes that don’t grip the floor too much and although we won’t be working up a sweat please bring some water to stay hydrated.
£5/£4 reduced (unemployed, retired, student or NHS staff), per person per class, cash on the door but please book in advance if you can.

Canterbury Baptist Church Hall venue
Good size hall, well lit with a high ceiling and an excellent sound system. Toilets and a kitchen are available.
Canterbury Baptist Church hall is situated close to the city centre, just off the ring road, near the central bus station and in walking distance from both Canterbury East and West Railway Stations.
Several car parks are located in Canterbury city centre, many of which are within walking distance. Canterbury ‘park and ride’ buses run every 7-8 minutes from Wincheap, New Dover Road and Sturry Road directly to Canterbury City Centre. Canterbury Bus Station is just 5 minute walk away and there is a bus stop nearly outside the hall and on the opposite side of the road which are stops for the 12, 15, 16, 23A, 43 and 89.
